Leni Levenson Wiener is a fiber artist and quilt instructor living in New Rochelle, NY. She holds a BA in Art History from Simmons College in Boston and a combined MA in Art Restoration/Conservation and Museology from the Universita Internazionale dell’Arte in Florence, Italy. For many years Leni worked in the garment industry in NYC, designing private label lines for many Department Stores. She has also worked professionally as a commercial photographer. In recent years, Leni has enjoyed working exclusively on her fiber art, teaching and lecturing on a variety of quilt techniques and quilt history. Thread Painting was a natural outgrowth of the things she loves; photography, sewing, and art quilts. Her own work is in contemporary art quilts and art clothing; her pieces are in many private collections and in several traveling shows. She prefers to work in a style that combines fabric collage and thread painting. Leni is happy to discuss commission work and private instruction. Please contact her for more information. |
